One of the few Western R&B/Hip-hop tracks I  listen to (rarely). I don’t like the song (and the single cover, not really my taste) but the instrumental is really nice.

はじまりのとき (Hajimari no Toki) by ayaka. Lyrics translation.

This week’s Last Song Syndrome is this song by ayaka “ はじまりのとき” (Hajimari no Toki/Time to start). Her album, “The beginning”, is a great comeback album and it could run for the best Jpop album of the year.

And I found an awesome piano version with the music sheet for this song too, here.

優也くん~誕生日おめでとう!

To celebrate and pay tribute to this talented boy’s day:

  1. I’m listening to all of his songs/tracks. Matsushita Yuya listening marathon day!
  2. I pinned 2 pictures of him at my pinterest.com account.
  3. Planning to buy his 1st album (although I want the Limited edition w/ DVD -so then I have both of his albums in limited ed. Heehee!) or DVD of his SUPER DRIVE live tour.

Wishing all the best in his life and in his career.

誕生日おめでとう!  ヾ(´・∀・)ノ « Happy Birthday♪

Thanks to my brother, this song is stuck in my head for the past 2 days. I have to admit that the lyrics is spot on, having this universal feeling of neglect and aloofness. The melody is contagious.

The song is like a breath of fresh air in the pop music scene, amidst all the flashy, poppy gimmicks.

Here’s to more of his kind.

ハルカ (HARUKA/Distant) by Jpop/rock girl band, SCANDAL. Lyrics translation.

This version is from the 3D anime「豆富小僧」(Tofu Kozo) Original Soundtrack. The difference between this and the original version is in the instrumental parts -the strings/synthesizer were replaced by electric guitars.

It’s my favorite song from SCANDAL (second to HARUKAZE) and currently my last-song-syndrome for the week -such a carefree, happy song. (^-^*)♪

“Parody” by Utada Hikaru, from her “Distance” album, 2001. Lyrics translation.

One of many Hikki (FYI: Utada Hikaru’s nickname) songs I love. The song wasn’t as popular as her other songs/singles, but it’s got a different soulful vibe to it. The lyrics is piercing -as expected from her. Lately, I’ve been humming this song going up the elevator to my condo unit. It’s just me in the elevator, of course. ( `□´)/ ♪

Wish this song was included in his “2U” album, and also made a PV for this!  After all, Yuya made the lyrics, together with “Life in the dark”.  (Btw I just got the album-Jacket A version today!)

Found the translation to this song too. It’s a good thing Yuya is actively participating in his songs. The lyrics is really pretty.  Lyrics translation.

remember to always dream on, dreamer
if you can make the place above the clouds yours
then you can change the world
no matter the bad dreams you dream
know they’re just illusions you alone create
never take them to heart, then you can change yourself

松下優也 (Matsushita Yuya) - A Song For You, from his 2nd album “2U”. Lyrics translation.

As expected from Yuya, this sounds good! From my limited Nihonggo, the lyrics is touching. Definitely my next top song to scrobble. Now I really can’t wait to listen to the other songs once my order arrives.

It’s already “Valentine’s month”. Give your loved-ones something cute and crafty this Heart’s month. Awesome idea!

Matsushita Yuya’s live performance of “Mr. ‘Broken Heart’” at his LAST NIGHT concert -DVD.

The introduction of this version sounds really good -the chimes and vocals.

I used to listen to this song, especially during December. This song made me realize the things I should be grateful for the past year.

Lyrics translation.

Looking forward to 2012.

Can't Wait 'Til Christmas

Utada Hikaru SINGLE COLLECTION VOL.2

Playcount:

89 plays

It’s almost Christmas. The following posts will be all about this great season -a way to remind me how grateful and happy Christmas is.

Starting with Utada Hikaru’s only Christmas song:

宇多田ヒカル - Can’t Wait ‘Til Christmas

Don’t make me wait until Christmas
Jokingly, time passes by, oh~
On days without anything to do, I want to be just beside you
I’m already, loving you

What do you think about on a long winter
When spring comes, everyone is preparing for a journey
(but)our season is coming very soon

Don’t make me wait until Christmas
The whole town is falling in love with you
Don’t put up a cool act in front of me
I’m already, loving you

The white snow enfolds the mountain
Just like crossing over, we often flap our wings
Two of us alone on christmas eve

Every time we meet, the distance between us shrinks
Our hearts pass each other by little by little
More than any promises, I want to hear your feelings right now

Don’t make me wait until christmas

Why do people chase after tomorrow
It’s alright to just treasure the most important people

Ah~

I’m already, loving you
